Formative Evaluation of the Museum of Science, Boston: Live Animal Garden

August 6, 2023 | Exhibitions, Public Programs

Over the span of three months, our team at Harvard Graduate School of Education conducted a formative evaluation to assist the Museum of Science in Boston with their efforts to build a new exhibit, the Live Animal Garden. The goal of our evaluation was to determine how museum visitors responded to the museum's existing live animal exhibits and identify recommendations for their new Live Animal Garden exhibit. Through observations, interviews, and surveys with patrons, we found overall positive responses to the live animals, as well as a need to emphasize the museum's intended conservation messaging through the new exhibit.
