Engaging Youth in Science Research, Communication, and Education to Foster Identity Development: A Resource Toolkit

March 31, 2023 | Public Programs

The Museum of Science and Boston University received funding from the National Science Foundation to develop and implement a pilot program exploring how mentorship in science research, communication, and education practices contributes to changes in high school students' science identities.

This toolkit shares guidelines, resources, and curricula materials that were developed and refined over the project period, with a focus on: 1) youth engagement in science research practices, 2) youth engagement in science communication practices, 3) youth engagement in science education practices, 4) supporting youth through mentorship from STEM professionals, and 5) integrating youth to become a part of a science community.
