Needs Assessment Protocol: STS Science Cafes

This is the protocol for a research project to assess the wants and needs of adults in underserved STEM learning communities -- in our case, the Richmond, VA African American community -- towards the goal of using a community-university partnership to staging STS science cafes that respond to these wants and needs.

Design Squad Global Summative Evaluation Report

In 2017, Concord Evaluation Group (CEG) conducted a summative evaluation of Design Squad Global (DSG). DSG is produced and managed by WGBH Educational Foundation. WGBH partnered with FHI 360, a nonprofit human development organizations working in 70 countries, to implement DSG around the globe. In the DSG program, children in afterschool and school clubs explored engineering through hands-on activities, such as designing and building an emergency shelter or a structure that could withstand an earthquake. Fairchild Garden's Growing Beyond Earth: Year 1 Evaluation Report 2016-2017

During the school year of 2016-2017, Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden (Fairchild) implemented the first year of a four-year project entitled: Growing Beyond Earth (GBE). NASA is providing funding support for project implementation as well as an external project evaluation. The evaluation activities conducted this year were focused on understanding project implementation and exploring project outcomes using data collected between September 2016 and May 2017. This report’s findings and accompanying recommendations inform next year’s project implementation and evaluation activities.

Global Soundscapes: Mission to Record the Earth: Summative Evaluation of Interactive Theater Show + YELL Activities

Supported by the National Science Foundation, the Global Soundscapes! Big Data, Big Screens, Open Ears project employs a variety of informal learning experiences to present the physics of sound and the new science of soundscape ecology.
