Convergent learning from divergent perspectives: Final evaluation report

July 20, 2023 | Informal/Formal Connections, Media and Technology, Professional Development, Conferences, and Networks, Public Programs

Convergent Learning from Divergent Perspectives is a project developed through a partnership between The Ohio State University (OSU) STEAM Factory and the Center of Science and Industry (COSI), both located in Columbus, OH. The project brought together researchers from different disciplines to communicate their research in a variety of informal learning settings. The primary goal of the project was to develop a program through which researchers would create collaborative, multidisciplinary learning content around convergent themes for public audiences of all ages in unstructured and semi- structured learning environments. Through this program, the project intended to increase the likelihood that researchers from different disciplines, and representing potentially divergent perspectives on a topic, would work together more often, learn from one another, and better communicate science to the public.

This document is the final evaluation report for the project, which focuses both on formative evaluation of the collaborative+interdisciplinary presentation creation process and summative evaluation of audience learning outcomes.
