Introducing the CAISE Task Force on Broadening Participation

CAISE has been newly charged with finding potential synergies and connections between the fields of informal science education (ISE) and science communication (SciComm). The need to strengthen, and even re-think, efforts to broaden participation in STEM is central to both fields, so CAISE has formed a task force comprised of 15 experts in both communities to map progress, gaps, and possibilities. The goal is to produce tools and findings that can position our fields as essential partners to larger (state-wide/community-wide) efforts to broaden participation and that can equip ISE and SciComm professionals with practical tools for strengthening relevant practice.
